DESIGN & SERVICES

1. CAN I ENGAGE AN INTERIOR DESIGNER SOLELY FOR DESIGN SERVICES?

Unfortunately, we do not offer standalone design services. Our commitment extends to overseeing the entire renovation project until its conclusion and handover to the homeowner. Ensuring adherence to MUJI design and quality standards is paramount to us.

Alternatively, you may explore our Interior Advisor service if you want to envision a space-efficient home with recommendations for MUJI furniture and household layout solutions, excluding carpentry.

2. WHAT TYPES OF DESIGN SERVICES ARE PROVIDED BY MUJI RENOVATION SERVICE?

We offer comprehensive interior design services which encompasses a furniture layout, 2D and 3D drawing, and we proficiently handle the entire process from initial concept to final installation. Each proposal is customized to individual’s lifestyle and preferences and will be a timeless design yet flexible to adapt to any changes in different phases of life such as an addition of a new family member.

3. WHO WILL BE WORKING ON MY PROJECT?

Our team, comprised of interior designers, project managers, and appointed contractors, is committed to working diligently on your projects. Each member is proficient in MUJI Renovation concepts and rigorously adheres to our high-quality standards.

4. WHAT IF I DON’T LIKE WHAT YOU DESIGN FOR ME?

Please do not hesitate to share your feedback. Whether there’s something you dislike or you have specific reasons for your preferences, let us know, and we’ll make the necessary adjustments whenever possible.

PROCESS & TIMELINE

5. HOW LONG DOES THE RENOVATION PROCESS TYPICALLY TAKE, AND CAN IT BE EXPEDITED?

Our renovation service, from initial design to completion, typically takes 2 to 4 months, depending on the condition of each home unit. If you have a specific timeline to meet, please inform us in advance, and we will do our best to expedite the process.

6. I'VE NEVER WORKED WITH AN INTERIOR DESIGN FIRM BEFORE. WHAT'S THE PROCESS LIKE?

The process commences with scheduling an initial consultation at our showroom to comprehend your requirements. This is followed by on-site measurement of your home, an estimated cost proposal, 2D & 3D design proposal, and furniture planning. Once the project is confirmed, construction will commence, and MUJI will supervise the entire process until its completion.

7. IS THERE A MINIMUM PROJECT SIZE TO ENGAGE THE MUJI RENOVATION SERVICE?

No, there are no size restrictions, but we exclusively undertake full house renovations and not partial ones.

8. DO YOU OFFER PRE-PACKAGED DEALS FOR HOME RENOVATIONS?

We do not offer standardized, one-size-fits-all packages. Instead, we believe in understanding your needs and requirements before making a renovation and lifestyle proposal for your project, in alignment with MUJI Renovation Concept.

PAYMENT & CHARGES

9. HOW MUCH DO YOU CHARGE, AND CAN YOU WORK WITH MY BUDGET?

Costs vary depending on the scope of projects, and there is a range determined by the project’s complexity. This range is established through the estimate we provide after our on-site measurement. At MUJI Renovation, we address this question in our client questionnaire even before we commence the design phase. If the budget aligns with our client’s needs, we proceed with site visits and delve deeper into specific design styles. For clients with more modest budgets, we suggest alternative service options that may be a better match.

10. HOW CAN I ENSURE THAT MY PAYMENT IS SECURE, AND MY PROJECT WILL BE COMPLETED?

You can have confidence in the fact that MUJI oversees your entire home renovation, maintaining close communication with you and the contractor until the project is finished. MUJI serves as an intermediary between property owners and the designated contractors to facilitate secure payments.

11. HOW MUCH DOES ON-SITE MEASUREMENT COST? AND WHAT IS INCLUDED?

The on-site measurement fee is $250, covering the actual measurement of your home. This allows us to calculate an estimated cost for our proposal to you. During this visit, we also aim to have a conversation with you on-site to better understand your requirements and needs.

12. IS THERE A SEPARATE FEE FOR PROJECT MANAGEMENT APART FROM DESIGN FEES?

There is no additional fee for project management. MUJI will oversee your entire renovation from the initial design concept to the completion of the renovation works, ensuring a hassle-free renovation journey. Furthermore, our team provides a comprehensive one-stop service that includes furniture styling using MUJI furniture. We also assist in organizing your lifestyle by offering storage solutions to maximize utility and organization.

13. WHAT IF I NEED TO STOP THE PROJECT DUE TO BUDGET CONSTRAINTS?

We will consider your budget and propose an estimated cost in our early discussions before moving forward with the next steps of the project. We will try to keep the cost within that estimation and minimise any additional cost that may be incurred. At any point of time, please feel free to share with us any concerns related to your budget.

14. WILL I GET A REFUND ON FURNITURE ITEMS THAT I'M NOT SATISFIED WITH?

Unfortunately, no. If the dissatisfaction is a result of last-minute design change requests, we won’t be able to issue a refund. However, we do allow for item exchanges on a case-by-case basis.

15. CAN I PURCHASE MY OWN NEW FURNITURE (NON-MUJI)?

Yes, you can. Please be aware that there is a minimum requirement for the purchase of MUJI furniture.

16. CAN I INCORPORATE MY OWN EXISTING FURNITURE (NON-MUJI)?

Yes, the MUJI interior designer will provide advice on the best ways to incorporate it, but this is subject to the conditions of each item.

17. ARE THERE ANY DISCOUNTS ON MUJI FURNITURE FOR MUJI RENOVATION CUSTOMERS?

No, however, discount may be made available during promotion or campaign period.

18. ARE THE FEES INCURRED IN THE RENOVATION PROJECT ELIGIBLE FOR MUJI PASSPORT MILEAGE ACCUMULATION?

Unfortunately, these fees do not qualify for MUJI passport mileage accumulation and cannot be combined with MUJI passport coupons.
